Erhu: Private lesson
Teaching objective:
An assessment of each student’s personal and musical characteristic is conducted to assign the most suitable teacher, who will provide a tailored teaching plan for the student. This process establishes the style of teaching, key milestones, and degree of difficulty to match the student’s ability. We find this personalised approach maximises the learning experience and improvement efficiency.
Erhu: Adult group lessons
Suitability: adults with or without prior music experience
Commitment: 1-hour lesson once a week, up to 5 people
Teaching objectives: To play erhu professionally at a professional and/or performance level.
Class contents:
- Systematic erhu techniques and knowledge (tone, rhythm, hand position, sight reading, and music performance)
- Learning the National erhu Grading Textbook.
Coco Kou
Ehru Teacher
Coco comes from Nanjing, Jiangsu Province. Started to play Erhu since 2002. She was taught by famous musicians Li Yang and Chen Yinghua. She has graduated her Mater of Education in Monash University in 2022.
She has achieved level 10 in Erhu exam in 2008. She has achieved Gold Award in National Youth Art Competition and Won the third place in Hong Kong and International Jiangnan Sizhu Group Invitational Tournament 2010.
Her aim is to promote Erhu by teaching students worldwide. She incorporates the technique and performance experience into the teaching, enabling students to deeply feel the charm of Erhu.
